Fortune Cookies Restaurant Los Alamitos

I've known Fortune Cookies since it opened in Los Alamitos a couple of decades ago. It's now in Seal Beach, just a few blocks down from the original location. I've always liked their philosophy of being a "healthy" Chinese restaurant. Some people say that, because of that, the food is a bit on the bland side. Well, maybe they aren't overly aggressive flavors, but I actually do like them. And I think that their Mandarin Chicken with Eggplant is absolutely delicious! Anyhow, in these times of crazy prices, FC still gives you a lunch special for 10 bucks that includes a spring roll with salad, your choice of rice, your choice of soup, and one entree. Hard to beat that!

Excellent food and service!! We happened upon this place by chance on a Sunday evening. We live out of town and came to Seal Beach to go to a jazz show at Spaghettini the following day. We were driving around Seal Beach Blvd. looking for a good place to eat. The food was delicious and served quickly. I got the hot & sour soup, spring rolls and pot stickers. It's very hard to find hot & sour soup and chop suey where we live!! My husband got chicken chop suey. I loved my meal and he was very satisfied with his. Our server, Tony, gave us excellent service and he had a sense of humor. I recommend this restaurant.

Recently moved to the area. Have had this place 3 times. 1x pick up. 2x delivery. Tonight, with delivery, I ordered the shrimp sizzling rice soup and egg rolls. The food was Amazing! The soup has a lot of shrimp in it. And the egg rolls are cooked perfectly! If ordering online, order directly through the their website. They do pick-up/delivery, but without the higher prices/fees you get when ordering through a seperate food delivery comp. A huge thank you to all the staff for making/bringing me such a perfect dinner! Appreciate you!

This use to be my fave place! Recent experiences have been terrible. I say experiences because I forgot about the last time I ordered with them and there was a bunch of eggshells piled in my shrimp fried rice my 7 year old found while choking/barfing from disgust like they used my order for the trash can for all the eggshells disgusting! It’s been about a year much time had past I really forgot until I reordered today how terrible the service was. I never doordash and Uber eats and I get my food it’s an open bag open food egg rolls missing. I call they want to give me a hard time about getting my money back after waiting 2 hours to receive it from who I thought was their direct employee. They’re suppose to be picking it up for a refund I’ll bet my last dollar they repacking this food for some one else. Never again… Ordered at 2 it’s 5:51 they never planned on coming back to drop me my funds I had to go get it. Scum bags.and I seen a food worker in they nose when I when to pick up my money smh what in the heck! Management need to do better establishment is totally disgusting.

Got the steam filet dover sole fish meal that was steamed and brothed in light soy sauce and ginger amd scallions. It came with a bowl of white rice. It was very delicious! As for the egg drop it was very rich and light at the same time. Definitely, very good food that if you want to eat something delightful and healthy. High recommended.
